Yes. For eligible Medicaid members, transportation to your covered medical care is free — whether it's a few miles or across the region. Most long trips are booked exactly like any other ride through MAS: you just give them the full destination address.
Usually not. A long ride is still a normal Medicaid trip as long as it's to the care your community customarily uses. Only if your appointment is genuinely outside your local medical area might your referring (local) provider need to complete New York's Form 2020-U, explaining why the care isn't available closer to home. All Medicaid transportation in New York is arranged through MAS (Medical Answering Services). Ask for Transit Professionals by name so your ride is assigned to us.
